Christmas parties- check
New Years Champagne Showers- check
Sleep, Eat, Nap, Sleep- check
Hair + Face Mask- check, and I finally have moments to reflect on the fashion thoughts.
It seems that throughout the years there was a change over between the 'glow' and 'matte'. Think about it, the slick and 'fabulous darling' stage of Audrey of Breakfast at Tiffanies with the Hollywood stars looking gracefully at us with their perfect marble skin and Chanel Outfits. Followed by the 21st century with the J.Lo glowing healthy skin surrounded by fur and Gucci. Today the matte vs glow is constantly changing, look at the adverts of foundation! Chanel offers a
Lumière glow, whereas Dior the
Nude BB option. This interchange also reflects in fashion.
The Spring/Summer starting from 2012 was all about pastel tones and colours

Nicole Kidman in Dior, Dior, Versace |
Remember the fabulous Nicole Kidman in the girly and elegant Dior gown at the Cannes Film Festival? The catwalk was covered in all shades of matte from Versace, Oscar de la Renta, Etro and Louis Vuitton. Why? Because it's summer, the birds are singing, we have a tan and don't look washed out with those colours and romance in the air. Those colours and delicate materials scream out that we are sweet and innocent and deserve an ice cream on a date.
The Shoes were dominated by the Pumps and above is my top selection for the Pastels. From left we have the
Manolo Blhanik Suede BB in Yellow,
Jimmy Choo Anouk Suede in Green and the super popular
Christian Louboutin Pigalle in Nude. These babies have been a life saver, until it got very cold, perfect with skinny and boyfriend jeans as well as wide range of dresses, not to mention that the comfort (the 120mm Pigalle excluded).
The closer it got to winter, the more glitter appeared around us. The mood from spring romance has changed to a somewhat aggressive attraction and action, after all we all need to stay warm in winter! How can you live without glitter at the New Years Party? Without a doubt Dolce & Gabanna are at the top scale of shining bright with their master pieces seen on the red carpet and videos from Beyonce to Selena Gomez.

Chloe, Balmain, Marc Jacobs, N21 by Allesandro Del'Aqua, Marc Jacobs |
When glitter is looking like this, it is very easy to conform to the stereotype of Russians loving shiny things! It's eye catching, looks pretty under light, girly and festive. If you want to add glitter to an everyday outfit why not take example from the glitzy jumper in N21 by Aleesandro Del'Aqua and match it with simple trousers and boots instead of heals. Remember to maintain a balance of glitter on you, the danger is looking like a drag queen, not the best way to start the New Year!
Finally to my biggest weakness, shoes and especially shiny shoes! The thought of writing a blog about shiny shoes has bugged me from the opening of the new
Jimmy Choo store in Moscow, when the creative director has pointed out the pre-lease of the beautiful crystal covered Tia pumps. I fell in LOVE!! Follow the example of Carrie Bradshaw of mix and match why not put on a simple outfit consisting of jeans and a t-shirt matched with super shiny and fabulous heals!
The above heals are the perfect definition of a shiny shoe. There is an obvious favouritism to Louboutins and Choos, which I cannot resist. The new Louboutin pre-Christmas collection of Artifice Strass in black and green are stunning! Who needs a Chritsmas tree when you can look at your feet and have fireworks each time!!! You say Christmas is over and the countdown to summer has started? I say that we need cheering up on those grey days and stay positive if we want to be on date at Valentines!
