Presidency in the Wardrobe

Holidays are over, tans are fading and comfort food becomes more attractive to us.... Not the happiest thought but the truest! Do you wear clothes or does your clothes wear you?

Today's fashion allows women to be comfortable and should make us happy to dig our our Chloe jumpers and hope that our dark shades of OPI haven't dried out over the summer. This season is here to test your confidence!

From left: Alexander McQueen, Stella McCartney, Chanel, Chloe, Marc Jacobs
It's not easy to wear earthy coloured Marc Jacobs outfit and strut your stuff. Also,we do not have legs like Karlie Kloss who looks fabulous in a Chanel jumper designer by Karl himself on the cover of Russian Vogue for October. For some of us, simply wearing Chanel would boost their confidence, however I would like to inspire my darling fashion lovers with standard height and form to match their outfits in a way that would get the supermodel attitude.

The oversized jumper/dress look is the easiest to wear and the comfiest. Take a note from the Stella McCartney look in the picture above. Simple make up, simple pattern on bright colour matched with absolute fab shoes. I'm loving these babies, the platform will keep your pins away from the puddles and the dark coloured leather will hide any odd splashes, keeping you fast on the go with the added length to your legs.

Now for those who are feeling the shivers of the cooling temperatures a winner option is over the knee boots.
Chanel, Christian Louboutin, Jimmy Choo, Gucci and Saint Laurent
The warmest and easiest way to dress your long jumper is to match it with high boots! Having a classic such as the Jimmy Choo example will save your life as they will watch with everything. Why not go for the all matchy-matchy look from Gucci or make a statement with sexy Louboutins or stunning Saint Laurent. This option will keep you going through all the social events in winter.
Tip: For slimmer looking legs go for Jimmy option. If you wear something like Saint Laurent type of boot, the space between your leg and the rim of the boot visually enhance your thighs. Girls who are looking after their legs in the gym are welcome for all types of course!

Wanna flirt?! Then go for these...

Left: Vesrace, In the Middle from top: Saint Laurent, Ralph Lauren, Christian Louboutin, Far Right: Alain Quilici for David Koma
These babies are needed in our wardrobes! How about those Versace boots worn with jeans and chequered shirt for a cowboy casual but fierce look! Grey Ralph Laurent Talya booties are begged to be worn with a delicate cashmere dress with lace boarding and dark cherry lipstik. Alain Quilici are beyond awesome! Leather leggings, white shirt, red lips and you are ready to rock it. Louboutins are as usual pure sex and Saint Laurent are classics which will match with everything and save you from picky choices whilst running late!

The latest Walk of Shame showcase in Moscow was a great reason to show off the fall looks which I am proud to share with you.

Russian women are known for they love or bright, leopard and fierce..... above is how they are doing it right.
The question of whether the looks look good because they are fresh from the runway or our divas have enough confidence, will remain between them and their stylists. Attitude and confidence is the element which some of us are missing. Whether your coming to the office, going on s walk or having a coffee, don't be shy of your experiments.  Yes wearing sandals with a furry coat will make the grannies tut at you, but if you have the right balance if textures and colours the look will work like it did with Evgeniya Lenovich on the far left (would if liked to see the lipstick to be the same colour as her sandals though).  Play around with your textures and colours like Ksenya Sobchak has done, the cool colour pallet allowed leopard boots to add a highlight to the outfit without distracting from the whole ensemble.

Who has the power? Your mind or a new dress? The worst thing we can do is leave the house and not be happy with the reflection in the mirror. Imagine yourself in that head to toe Celine look (far right picture above) if your not entirely happy, don't go! Don't do it! It will take a few minutes to see what happens if you put your hair in a ponytail, perhaps darker eyes and a statement ring.... You never know, suddenly you could feel like you could conquer the world. Nothing upsets me more then seeing women dressing for the sake of wearing clothes and not even considering that changing a cardigan for a pashmina or a tailored jacked will make them look stylish not frumpy and boring.

You shouldn't only have fun in summer, enjoy your fall looks! Here are some of my favourite campaign examples to inspire your morning outfits!

Shine Bright Like Jimmy

Christmas parties- check
New Years Champagne Showers- check
Sleep, Eat, Nap, Sleep- check
Hair + Face Mask- check, and I finally have moments to reflect on the fashion thoughts.

It seems that throughout the years there was a change over between the 'glow' and 'matte'. Think about it, the slick and 'fabulous darling' stage of Audrey of Breakfast at Tiffanies with the Hollywood stars looking gracefully at us with their perfect marble skin and Chanel Outfits. Followed by the 21st century with the J.Lo glowing healthy skin surrounded by fur and Gucci. Today the matte vs glow is constantly changing, look at the adverts of foundation! Chanel offers a Lumière glow, whereas Dior the Nude BB option. This interchange also reflects in fashion.

The Spring/Summer starting from 2012 was all about pastel tones and colours
Nicole Kidman in Dior, Dior, Versace
Remember the fabulous Nicole Kidman in the girly and elegant Dior gown at the Cannes Film Festival? The catwalk was covered in all shades of matte from Versace, Oscar de la Renta, Etro and Louis Vuitton. Why? Because it's summer, the birds are singing, we have a tan and don't look washed out with those colours and romance in the air. Those colours and delicate materials scream out that we are sweet and innocent and deserve an ice cream on a date.

The Shoes were dominated by the Pumps and above is my top selection for the Pastels. From left we have the Manolo Blhanik Suede BB in Yellow, Jimmy Choo Anouk Suede in Green and the super popular Christian Louboutin Pigalle in Nude.   These babies have been a life saver, until it got very cold, perfect with skinny and boyfriend jeans as well as wide range of dresses, not to mention that the comfort (the 120mm Pigalle excluded).

The closer it got to winter, the more glitter appeared around us. The mood from spring romance has changed to a somewhat aggressive attraction and action, after all we all need to stay warm in winter! How can you live without glitter at the New Years Party? Without a doubt Dolce & Gabanna are at the top scale of shining bright with their master pieces seen on the red carpet and videos from Beyonce to Selena Gomez.

When glitter is looking like this, it is very easy to conform to the stereotype of Russians loving shiny things! It's eye catching, looks pretty under light, girly and festive. If you want to add glitter to an everyday outfit why not take example from the glitzy jumper in N21 by Aleesandro Del'Aqua and match it with simple trousers and boots instead of heals. Remember to maintain a balance of glitter on you, the danger is looking like a drag queen, not the best way to start the New Year!

Finally to my biggest weakness, shoes and especially shiny shoes! The thought of writing a blog about shiny shoes has bugged me from the opening of the new Jimmy Choo store in Moscow, when the creative director has pointed out the pre-lease of the beautiful crystal covered Tia pumps. I fell in LOVE!! Follow the example of Carrie Bradshaw of mix and match why not  put on a simple outfit consisting of jeans and a t-shirt matched with super shiny and fabulous heals!

Christian Louboutin, Casadei, Jimmy Choo

The above heals are the perfect definition of a shiny shoe. There is an obvious favouritism to Louboutins and Choos, which I cannot resist. The new Louboutin pre-Christmas collection of Artifice Strass in black and green are stunning! Who needs a Chritsmas tree when you can look at your feet and have fireworks each time!!! You say Christmas is over and the countdown to summer has started? I say that we need cheering up on those grey days and stay positive if we want to be on date at Valentines!
