Stardust - The Make Up Post

The wonders of make-up have taken us a long way and now we have the power to do an awful lot with our faces. I am not a matte skin, matte lips, matte hair kind of a gal.... I like to look like I sleep 8 hours, eat super healthy and like mornings. The products which I will recommend can easily be used with a matte foundation and will not make you look greasy. I go for glow, not shine!

Separate love has to be given to MAC for the make-up wonders.  Have to admit that MAC consultants in the UK are still my favourite and I am yet still to find any use from the Russians. Those wonderful consultants listen to me when I describe that I need to look healthy, awake and to hide any signs of the social life which kept me up and made me drink loads and loads of Champagne!

MAC- Mineralize- Skinfinish- Soft & Gentle

To be used as a highlighter for cheeks and eyes.
Discovered in London’s Harvey Nicks, this amazing skinfinish is best described as pearly pressed powder which blends in with your make up without being obvious.  Best used on the top line of your bronzer (I use MAC- dark tan), extend the line to your temple to lift your cheekbones. Dab a bit on the inside corners of your eyes and in the bend of your brow. I love the way it finds the light in the room and reflects it allowing to highlight your good points and to hide those bags under your eyes.
Use: 168 Large Angle Contour Brush

MAC- Lustre Drops- Sun Rush

I want that J.Lo Glow! This was my demand from MAC make-up artist in Bristol. First it was marketed in a leopard skin box and sold as limited collection and now it’s in standard range but always sold out! I use it for my checks and eyes and it lasted at least 2 years! In summer it can easily replace all of your bronzers for the effortless look (I would recommend using it on skin with at least a slight tan). It is also great as a combination to your bronzer as it can be used as a highlighter. You can even add a tiny drop to your foundation before applying to add satin effect to your skin. I use sun rush, however there is are two more options which you can try to match to your skin (and yes there is even a super light one!)

Bobby Brown- Foundation Stick-Corrector

You’ve been a good girl and don’t need to cover your face in foundation? I am very jealous! Use this foundation stick (they might have renamed it to touch up by now) to cover an odd pimple or to add highlight or countering your face. This way you can prefect your appearance by using minimal amount of make-up.
There is also a totally opposite use for this tool. Get yourself a lighter and a darker shade for the thanks to KimK for spreading it – face contouring. I would only recommend this amount of make up for being photographed or for an event which last a long time (Polo, Regatta, Awards etc.)

Chanel Body Powder

Did you know that you can highlight your body? For those that didn’t please get Googling for a Youtube Tutorial. The benefits of this trick can make you look slimmer, toned and even make your boobs bigger! MAC Skinfinish mentioned earlier is also a great for highlighting collarbones.
Otherwise it’s a nice little touch when going on a date with that little black dress. I favour this powder as it has a nice scent (look up Chanel Mademoiselle and No5 options) and yet again it blends in without being too obvious. Make a vertical line on the front your legs to make them look longer and slimmer!

YSL Touche Eclat- Highlighter Pen

I didn’t want to mention this as I see it in almost every make-up bag, however a though that someone doesn’t know about it gave me shivers!
Get the right shade. It should be one or two shades lighter than your natural colour. Use it f in the corners and under your eyes to get rid of dark circles.
Around your lips to make them bigger.
Draw a vertical line on your nose to make it smaller.
It’s very easy to use, however if you have doubts in your make-up skills-use the video tutorial or go to a make-up artist at your nearest department store to get it right.
