Beauty Post- The Skin we Bare

Where there is fashion, there is defiantly beauty right by its side. I think many will agree that when you look good without clothes, you will have a lot more confidence when picking a fabulous outfit.

Therefore I would like to share my favourite beauty products which range from body creams to lip glosses. This week lets get to know our skin!

My ultimate favorites which have been tried and tested on myself and my fellow beauty lovers! As usual click the links to find out more about purchasing the products.

Medik8- Firewall:

I have discovered this British brand a couple years ago and have totally fallen in love with the Firewall cream. This clever little bottle with dual chambers which keeps the ingredients separate until you mix them on your hand really makes you feel like a chemist (hopefully in a good way). I won’t go into detail of ingredients or specialised terms of its purpose, you can look it up from the link. All I will say is that if my skin is feeling tiered and is showing signs of me not treating it well, this baby saves it! My skin is still a bit young to use it; therefore I apply it for a couple day for it to use it's antioxidant rescue and go back to my normal routine. Fresh glow, silky lines and a healthy colour... perfecto!

This is another great little helper for the city girls. I like to generously apply it as my night cream and go to sleep with a smile smelling the sweet yummy works of Dior. This is a mainstream product which is aimed at wide range of skin types, which is why I use it just as a night product. Please note that for your everyday moisturiser and face wash products to go to a beautician! Your daily cream should be professional and specialised and aimed at your individual skin type and I’m sorry it won’t have the same name as your favourite handbag!

For all three seasons when the weather is wet, cold and windy we need a good moisturiser to keep our skin soft throughout the whole day. The concentrate is very thick and creamy and it does what it says on the bottle! The price also makes me happy as I can use it day and night in the amounts which are needed without caring. Do not skip you body cream, it will keep your skin in a healthy condition and defiantly touchable! Think about the dry elbows, rushes from your clothes.... they are easily prevented by moisturising.

Yummy! This sweet smelling heaving is advertised as a product for perfect silhouette and oh boy, I’m not sure about any other benefit but it makes skin incredibly soft. I would recommend using oily skin products in summer as skin is exposed to the sun and needs something a lot more concentrated and oil is a classic way to make bare legs look hot hot hot! Please do not use this as tanning oil, there are other products for the tanning range!

Comfort Cool

Spring in Moscow, what a beautifully confusing time of the year it is! Last week the boots were swapped for slip-ons but this week it’s snowing and it’s actually freezing! It seems that when it’s time for the Mercedes Benz Fashion Week, the weather makes it hard to feel comfortable in latest spring trends.

Comfortable may sound like a ridiculous word to be used in the same sentence as MBFW, nevertheless the time are changing, in fact it has been several years now since trainers and a dress was not met with a shocked reaction. There seems to be a division of attendees:
·       Hipster bloggers – the neon hats over beach styled waves with New Balance on the feet
·       High fashion editors- those who actually work in the industry and have access to high end brands
·       Glamour girls- IT girls, models, actresses – mainly there for PR
·       ....and I don’t know how to describe all those strange looking people who epically fail to put an outfit together
Evgeniya Linovich- IT girl,Ulyana Sergeenkyo-designer Victoria Lopyreva- model, Oksana On- blogger

Therefore in a week before the 30th season of MBFW in Russia I will highlight trendy and comfy options which will help you survive the madness. Whether a VIP or a Guest, you will have to survive the crowd of major egos, lining up for the next show, and then stumping over each other to try and get the closest seat to the catwalk (one of the scariest experiences). This is the exact situation where heals become dangerous. For this I will suggest the ultimate option of trainers. Play around with neon bright in AirMaxes, try out colour blocking with New Balance or go for the romantic Dior styled dress with the Chanel beauts! Try them out with jeans cropped, or rolled up so that ankle is showing  and make sure that your socks are either super low or not there at all, Michael Jackson isn’t right. The other way is to find matching socks and wear them with a skirt as in a first picture from Italian Fashion Week.

Nike Air Max, New Balance,  Dior Fushion Fashion Sneakers, Chanel Trainers

Another fashion steal from the skaters is the slip-ons. Very simple in design and a step away from an actual slipper! Surprisingly those babies aren’t as easy to wear as trainers. They are much chunkier and can get the effect of the duck foot (matched with duck pout is a disaster!). Similar to trainers make sure that bare ankle is showing as it will highlight that you have slim legs. Of course if you have something known as “kanckles” then you will not be doing yourself any favours. There might still be a chance to match them with thick tights it black, navy or dark olive shades and a dress. They are fun, easy and will last throughout summer. When it gets hotter we can switch to the yummy Chanel espadrilles, but thats another story.

Polka Dot- Joshua Saunders, Ombre- Marc Jacobs, Floral- Givenchy, Hot Pink and Black- Gucci

I have already mentioned brogues also known as oxfords and biker boots in my previous posts. They are still trendy and also have that welcoming comfort factor.

Overall comfy is good as if your one of the unfortunate ones who has to stand at the back and then run out to join the cue for the next show, this is the best way to concentrate on the catwalk instead of being distracted by the pain! However if a designer saved you a front row seat or your one of the few who get escorted inside before the massacre happens, then heals don’t come as a pain of any sort.  I will go by the best way I know, get dressed on the day to match my mood and if that mood will take me to flat there will be no shame at all. Therefore all those based in Russia, please try and let go of the stereotypes and have a look at Fashion Week in London and NY to get inspiration for comfort-cool look!
